Looking for a New Computer with Windows XP
Ask R-Tech Systems

Windows XP is still available  - Do you want to get a new computer, but you don't want to get Vista?  Well there is still that option, if you have R-Tech Systems build you a computer.  Until July of this year we should still be able to build computers with Windows XP installed.  Send us an email to request a quote or give us a call.   Remember, Windows XP takes less processor and memory resources than Vista, which means a computer will run faster and more efficiently than the same computer with Vista on it.

If you are currently running a Windows XP tower, but you want a faster computer, we may be able to rebuild your computer and save you $200 or more over the cost of a new tower.  Usually a rebuild consists of a new motherboard, processor, memory, and power supply.  If you bring in your computer we can give you an analysis and estimate.

Netbooks are Popular:
An Introduction to Netbooks

Have you heard of the netbook?  Over the course of the last year netbooks have rapidly become popular.  A netbook is a small laptop computer that you can use for browsing the internet, sending emails, instant messaging, working on documents and spreadsheets, or playing games.  Netbooks use a processor that conserves on power, taking about 1/10th the wattage most laptops use.  They don't have high end graphics, so they don't work well for 3D games or video editing; but if you choose a model with Windows XP Home on it, you can do just about anything else.  Because of their small size, they are really convenient for carrying around, and unlike many ultra-portable laptops, netbooks are low-cost, ranging from $300-$600.

At R-Tech Systems, we sell the ASUS brand of netbooks.  ASUS has a long established reputation for high-end, quality products.  ASUS was, in fact, the manufacturer that introduced the "netbook" concept, and their netbooks have features that the other brands have yet to match.  One of the most noticeable features of the ASUS netbooks is the 7.5 to 9.5 hour battery life.  Another ASUS difference is the 10.2" screen - most other brands only offer an 8.9" screen.  An optional feature is the Solid State hard drive (SSD), making the computer suitable for rugged uses.  With a solid state hard drive, it can withstand vibration and jarring that would damage a regular laptop hard drive.  Like most netbooks, the processor of choice is the Intel Atom, running at 1.6Ghz, and using less than 3W of power.

ASUS EeePC 1000HE Netbook w/9.5 hour battery life, 160GB Hard Drive,
Wireless Ethernet, Bluetooth, Windows XP Home, Glossy Blue Finish
10.2" LCD Screen, Slipcase, 1-yr warranty.  $399 @ R-Tech Systems

Product Highlight - Carbonite Online Backup

It is very important that you back up your important files on your computer.  Whether it's email, documents, music, or pictures, if you don't back them up, there's a chance you could lose them, due to hard drive failure or some other sort of disaster.  Carbonite online backup is a really easy way to keep your files backed up.  Better yet, it is an offsite backup, which means your files would be safe even if there was a fire or theft.  The Carbonite client encrypts your data and sends it to the Carbonite servers where it is stored under your account.  If you need to restore files, you can switch to the restore mode and select the files you want to download back to your computer.  The only requirement for Carbonite is a high speed internet connection.  Give us a call or email us to order a Carbonite subscription.  It's just $49 per year, per computer.
